Brenton E McKenna

Brenton E McKenna (also known by his alter ego and middle name, Ezsra) is a respected Yawuru artist and creative educator based out of Broome. As Australia’s first published Indigenous graphic novelist, his magnum opus consists of the three volumes in the Ubby’s Underdogs series: The Legend of the Phoenix Dragon, Heroes Beginnings and Return of the Dragons (all published by Magabala Books). The trilogy draws on a combination of his own childhood experiences, his grandmother’s stories about Broome, and the monsters and heroes that existed in his head.


Cienan Muir

Cienan Muir is a Yorta Yorta and Ngarrindjeri young man living in Narrm. He is founder of the INDIGINERD pop culture company, director of the very first Indigenous Comic Con in Australia, which came to Narrm in 2019. Cienan has organised and been apart of panels discussing representation of the Indigenous identity across pop culture, for many years across the Australian convention circuit. He is a cosplayer, comic book collector and is currently working on a video game as a member of the Narrative team.


David Blumenstein

David Blumenstein is a service designer, writer, cartoonist and animation director based in Melbourne. He is a founding member of Squishface Studio, a co-share workspace for comic artists.


Queenie Chan

Queenie Chan was born in Hong Kong, and migrated to Australia when she was six years old. Her first published work was 'The Dreaming', a mystery-horror series for LA-based manga publisher TOKYOPOP. She has collaborated on several graphic novels with best-selling author Dean Koontz for his ‘Odd Thomas’ series, with author Kylie Chan for ‘Small Shen’, and a fairy-tale inspired fantasy series called 'Fabled Kingdom'. She is currently studying a PhD at Macquarie University, and creating a series of biographical young adult comics on historical queens called "Women Who Were Kings".

Siobhan Coombs

Siobhan Coombs has over a decade of comic retail experience, and a lifetime of comic book love. She is co-organiser of the comic convention Brazen and has judged the Australian Comic Arts Awards twice. 

Siobhan is especially committed to encouraging and supporting the next generation of comic creators through workshops and visits to primary and high schools. Siobhan founded Cockatoo Comics in 2021.


Soolagna Majumdar

Soolagna Majumdar is a Kolkata born, Perth bred comic artist and illustrator. Bouncing between traditional and digital mediums, her work focuses on whimsical and fantastical stories that come from the world around us.

After the success of Marge Simpson Anime (a zine documenting the spiritual awakening of the iconic matriarch), her comics and illustrations have been featured on Vice, Cordite Press, WA Museum Boola Bardip, DJED Press and Kookie Magazine, and have been a part of anthologies like the Ledger award winning Neither Here Nor Hair by Petrie Press and Comic Sans by Liminal Publications.  

When she isn't making comics, she's either teaching very cool young people how to make comics at The Globe Town Project, or volunteering with the exceptional people that make Perth Comic Arts Festival happen year after year.
